The cotton industry is gearing up for a possible record planting of 583,000 ha this year with good water availability and a favorable season outlook.
The majority of areas where cotton is grown in Australia are alkaline and in many cases sodic as well. Soil sodicity affects soils tructure, making soils prone to dispersion and water logging, preventing roots from exploring deeper to take up nutrients and water. These soils can be amerliorated by using gypsum.
High quality gypsum product can be purchased from REGYP and can be applied to the land via land, aerial and in-solution via flood or drip irrigation.
