The country’s biggest grain handler, CBH Group has warned that WA’s lack of rain could cause a 30 per cent drop in crop yield in the key growing areas.
Western Australia accounts for about one half of the country’s wheat exports.
Recently the grain price has been rallying due to poor crops in Europe and Canada, which would mean WA and Australia will miss out on what could have been a good year for wheat growers.
