MELBOURNE’S CBD has gained another 5-star NABERS energy-rated building, with the office tower at 530 Collins Street. It now operates one of the city’s few on-site co-generation plants on its roof.
The co-generation plant, together with lighting and fitout upgrades and water-efficient cooling towers, will achieve the 5-star rating, according to the owner, GPT Wholesale Office Fund Group. The building uses 40 per cent less energy than a building of comparable size and age.
